Two Migration Paths, named after Europe's great bird migration flyways. Each path is a curated three-city journey — one year per city — designed to carry you from foundations to specialization to career launch.
Just as migratory birds follow ancient flyways across Europe, Bluebird students follow curated routes through the continent's most dynamic cities.
Every autumn, millions of birds take flight along two of Europe's great migration corridors. The Atlantic Flyway traces the western coast — from the North Sea shores of the Netherlands, south along the Iberian Peninsula, drawn by warm currents and open horizons. The Alpine Flyway cuts through the heart of the continent — rising over the Swiss Alps, then descending south to the Mediterranean basin.
We named our two Migration Paths after these routes because the parallel is more than poetic. Like the birds, our students leave the nest in Brussels, then follow their chosen migratory path — westward along the Atlantic coast, or through the Alpine passes — each city chosen to match the rhythm of their academic and professional growth.
By Year 3, every student has migrated through three countries, building the resilience, adaptability, and cross-cultural fluency that defines the Bluebird graduate.
Every Bluebird student starts in the same city. In Year 2, paths diverge. In Year 3, you specialize in your chosen program.
All students together in Brussels. Capital of the EU, multicultural crossroads, diplomatic hub. Build your academic foundations and lifelong cohort bonds where Europe governs.
Paths split. Atlantic students fly to Madrid. Alpine students climb to Geneva/Zurich. Same shared business curriculum, new environments that challenge your perspective.
Atlantic students land in Amsterdam. Alpine students descend to Milan. Specialize in your program, complete your capstone, and launch into your career.
All students take the same business foundation curriculum regardless of future specialization. This shared core ensures a strong common language across all four programs.
In your final year, you specialize in one of four programs: GCD or BTD on the Atlantic Path, SEC or SIC on the Alpine Path. Fewer courses, internship, and capstone project.
Each path carries two specialization programs. Choose the path that matches your ambitions and the cities will follow.
Capital of the EU. All students together. Multicultural crossroads, diplomatic networks, NGO hub. Build your foundations where Europe governs — alongside Alpine Path students.
Spain's capital. Gateway to Latin America, major financial center, growing tech scene. Phase I intermediate — more on-campus courses at UIBS's own facilities in a vibrant Mediterranean metropolis.
Europe's startup capital. Innovation ecosystem, global trading hub. Phase II specialization — fewer courses, internship + capstone, maximum career exposure in one of the world's most connected cities.
Why this path: For students drawn to international commerce, diplomacy, digital innovation, and entrepreneurship. Madrid grounds you in global markets; Amsterdam launches you into tech and trade.
Capital of the EU. All students together. Build your foundations alongside Atlantic Path students in Europe's political and institutional heart — the perfect launchpad for understanding systemic change.
Switzerland's twin pillars: UN, WHO, and WTO in Geneva; green finance and fintech in Zurich. Sustainability governance and innovation converge in the alpine crossroads of global policy and capital.
Design capital of the world. Social enterprise, fashion, finance, inclusive innovation. Phase II specialization — complete your capstone where design thinking meets social impact at scale.
Why this path: For future climate leaders, sustainability pioneers, and social changemakers. Geneva/Zurich gives you global governance and green finance; Milan gives you design-led innovation and community impact.
